The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) organised the open day on 1 st March 2025, to enhance viewer’s understanding in the field of science and technology through various displays, exhibits, games and shows. The institute has sprawling campus, impressive research facilities and diverse academic programs that attracts students, researchers, and scholars from across the globe.
The visit to IISc was a great opportunity for the students of class 8 to explore its academic environment, infrastructure and research facilities. Various departments included Physics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Aerospace and Brain Sciences. The visit gave the students a chance of viewing both the displays and having enriching interaction with the young researchers of the institute. Students also got hands-on experience by indulging in the process of learning through games and quizzes, which was a great way to ensure experiential learning.
Students gained knowledge on topics like complexities with arrows, Geiger Muller Project, handling various Life Forms, Evolution of Life on Earth, Working of Muscle, Spreading of Cancer Cells, reaction by the immune Cells to the Pathogens, Recording of Bat Sounds and Adulterations. Overall it was an enriching learning experience for the students pertaining to the field of science.
