“Sympathy vs. Empathy”
Class: 9B Date: 9th,11th,12th, 13th November
Class 9 B presented an assembly on the topic “Sympathy vs. Empathy” and paid a tribute to the legendary Ratan Tata. It was a powerful experience that left a lasting impression with the audience.
The highlight of the assembly was the skit with an engaging storytelling that depicted and conveyed the struggles faced by farmers and challenges faced by soldiers, fostering a deep sense of empathy among the audience. This was followed by an energetic patriotic dance that uplifted the spirits of all present.
The assembly started with a skit and dance that beautifully illustrated the difference between sympathy and empathy. After this, we transitioned to a tribute for Ratan Tata by a ramp walk showcasing all TATA products. The speakers emphasised his values of integrity, humility and deep care for the people of India. This tribute reminded us of the impact that the pioneer had on his country and the world, by leading with empathy and compassion for the people of India. The assembly was a unique blend of lessons on personal growth and a tribute to one of India’s greatest visionaries.
The values learnt imparted through the assembly is to truly understanding others' feelings rather than just feeling sorry for them. Empathy helps us connect and offer genuine support, while sympathy often creates a sense of separation. The message was well received and appreciated by the audience.
