Empathy -The Key to Heal the World
Class: 9E Date: 6 December 2024
The students of Class 9E presented a thought-provoking assembly on the topic ‘Empathy’, in accordance with the SEWA assembly topics for Grade 9, from 5 - 7 December 2024. The assembly highlighted the importance of empathy, especially towards women in society. The assembly started on 5 December with the thought for the day and the introduction of the topic.
It was followed by a skit depicting the immediate aftermath of the RG Kar tragedy, which highlighted the need for empathy towards women. The skit was consorted by a spirited rendition of the song ‘Aar Kobe’, the official protest song of the tragedy.
On 7 December, a speech emphasising the power of empathy was delivered, thereby an overall conclusion of the SEWA themes of Grade 9 was showcased through a ramp walk. Overall, the assembly explored a deep and sensitive topic and instilled in the audience a sense of gratitude and empathy towards women.
